Amanda Wood joined the West Coast Conference in July of 2009 as the Championships Coordinator. A native of Pocahontas, IA, Wood is coming to the WCC after completing her Master's Degree in Sport Studies with an emphasis in Athletic Administration from the University of Iowa. Prior to that, she received her B.A. in Business Management and Exercise Science with an emphasis in Health Promotion from Central College, also in Iowa. Wood brings with her a wealth of event management experience both at the university and NCAA levels. She was most recently an intern for the NCAA DIII Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where she acted as the assistant meet director in 2009. She has also worked as an event management assistant in the University of Iowa's athletics department from 2006-2008, where she was also the assistant tournament director for the 2008 NCAA Regional Softball Tournament. In her role at the WCC, Wood will be responsible for helping to plan, coordinate, and execute the WCC Championships in cross country, basketball, golf, tennis, and rowing. |
