SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has announced the bracket and game times for the 2016 WCC Baseball Championship, to be played May 26-28 at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton, Calif. The four-team neutral site championship returns for the fourth straight season.

For the first time in league history, three teams shared the regular season title with BYU, Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s each posting an 18-9 league record. It marks the first baseball championship for BYU since joining the WCC for the 2011 campaign, while Gonzaga earns its second title in four seasons. A charter member of the WCC, the Gaels collect their first ever championship.

Saint Mary’s claims the No. 1 seed via the three team tiebreaker, while BYU is the No. 2 seed based on winning the regular season series against No. 3 Gonzaga. Two-time defending WCC Tournament champion Pepperdine (15-12 WCC) will make its third straight trip to Stockton as the No. 4 seed.

The Cougars, Bulldogs and Waves are all making their third appearance in the four-team tournament field, while the Gaels will make their conference tournament debut. In the last four seasons, seven of 10 WCC programs have made at least one trip to the league showcase at Banner Island Ballpark.

New for 2016 the tournament features the traditional NCAA Regionals double-elimination format with an “if necessary” championship game on Saturday.

The first pitch of the 2016 WCC Baseball Championship is on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. PDT, when top-seed Saint Mary’s faces Pepperdine. That game will be followed by BYU vs. Gonzaga at approximately 7 p.m. PDT. Friday's action gets underway with the first of three games beginning at Noon PDT.

Every game of the tournament will all be streamed live and available free of charge on TheW.tv, powered by Campus Insiders. Steve Quis (play-by-play), Keith Ramsey (analyst) and Sarah Kezele (on-field reporting) will call all the action live from Banner Island.

The winner of the 2016 West Coast Conference Baseball Championship will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Tickets to the event can be purchased online. TICKETS
