Alex Short Named WCC Men's Runner of the Month

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference has named its Men’s Runner of the Month for September 2015

WEST COAST CONFERENCE MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE MONTH – Alex Short, Gr. – USF

San Francisco graduate student Alex Short, competing in his first race as a Don, finished first in a dual meet against Boise State in Golden Gate Park’s Speedway Meadows. Short, from Bicknacre, England, ran away from the field in a time of 24:55.1, nearly 30 seconds ahead of his closest competitor. Two weeks later at the Roy Griak Invitational, Short once again paced the Dons, finishing with a time of 25:04.8 to earn fifth place out of a field of over 200 runners.


The 2015 WCC Cross Country Championships, hosted by Gonzaga, are set to take place on October 31 at Plantes Ferry park in Spokane Wash.

-Sept. 11: Boise St. Dual Meet, 1st place Indiv. 24.55.1 (8k)

-Sept. 26: Roy Griak Invitational, 5th place Indiv. 25:04.8 (8k)
