Bertholdt Named WCC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for February 22, 2016.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MARIE BERTHOLDT, JR, F – SANTA CLARA
Marie Bertholdt had a huge weekend for Santa Clara to keep the Broncos in the running for the No. 2 seed in the WCC tournament. Bertholdt averaged 19.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game for the Broncos in wins against Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine.

Against LMU, Bertholdt scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds to go with an assist and a steal. She then had a career day against Pepperdine, scoring a career-best 27 points along with a career-high 15 boards with seven assists and three steals.

Bertholdt shot 52.2. percent from the floor and 75.0 percent from beyond the arc while also going 92.3 percent from the free throw line on the weekend.
