SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named BYU’s Keaton Cullimore the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week and Pepperdine duo Lautaro Pane and Pedro Iamachkine the Doubles Team of the Week.
Cullimore earned Player of the Week honors after helping to lead BYU to a win over No. 59 Boise State with a win in the second singles spot. Cullimore came from behind to beat Boise State’s Toby Mitchell, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 to move to 8-1 on the year. He also contributed a doubles point in BYU’s upset win.
Lautaro Pane and Pedro Iamachkine boasted another solid week in the number two doubles position for the Waves last week to earn their second consecutive Doubles Team of the Week. Against UNLV, the sophomore pair collected a commanding 6-2 win over Alexandr Cozbinov and Richard Holberg to propel Pepperdine towards a 1-0 start with the doubles point. The duo then had continued success on Saturday over New Mexico as the team put down Ricky Hernandez-Tong and Jorge Escutia with a 6-3 result to once again lead the Waves to a 1-0 start on the day. Pane and Iamachkine are now 4-1 in dual play as a partnership this season, including a 1-0 outing in conference play. They are on a four-match winning streak and have gone 8-2 in their last 10 competitions.
