BYU’s Alexa Gray Named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Volleyball Player of the Week for September 7, 2015. 

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ALEXA GRAY, SR., OH - BYU
Senior outside hitter Alexa Gray led No. 12 BYU women's volleyball (5-1) to three wins over the weekend, including a sweep against No. 24 Purdue, to take the Marcia E. Hamilton Classic. 

Against Saint Louis, Gray led both teams with 13 kills to go along with four digs, an assist and a block. Then, against No. 24 Purdue, Gray collected a match-high 14 kills on a .333 clip in addition to seven digs and two blocks. Gray played in just the first set against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, but collected a pair of kills, service aces and digs in the win. 

For the week, Gray averaged 4.14 kills per set, a .303 clip, 1.86 digs and .43 aces and blocks. For her efforts, she was named the Most Valuable Player at the Marcia E. Hamilton Classic as well as added to the all-tournament team.
