SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for October 12, 2015.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MARIANA GALVAN, SO., F – SANTA CLARA
Sophomore forward Mariana Galvan defined clutch this weekend for Santa Clara with two game-winners - both coming in double overtime. The first game-winner came Friday against Loyola Marymount with just 44 seconds left on the clock. Off a rebound, Galvan found the back of the net to give the Broncos the 2-1 win. On Sunday against Pepperdine Galvan was back at again, this time in the 103rd minute. A pass from Hailai Arghandiwal found Galvan in the box and after a touch the Broncos experienced their second double overtime win in as many games, this one by a score of 1-0.
