SAN BRUNO, Calif. - At the conclusion of the 2011 West Coast Conference basketball season, the University of Portland remains in sole possession of the lead for the 2010-11 West Coast Conference Commissionerʼs Cup. After the success of its men's basketball team in 2010-11, Santa Clara has taken over the top spot in the men's standings by half a point over the Pilots.

Gonzaga earned the most points over the winter, capturing eight points for the women's basketball regular season title, and 7.5 more for sharing the men's crown. Saint Mary's earned 7.5 men's points and seven more for a second place women's finish.

Overall, the Pilots now have 40 Commissionerʼs Cup points after the fall and winter seasons, which include menʼs and womenʼs cross country, menʼs and womenʼs soccer, volleyball, and men's and women's basketball. Portland's cushion shrank to just three points over second place Santa Clara (37.0 points). Gonzaga moved into third place overall with 30.5 points, while Loyola Marymount is in fourth with 30.0 points.
