SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has named Glenn Layendecker as its Associate Commissioner for Business and Operations/Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Layendecker manages the conference's business affairs.
"We are very pleased to have Glenn join the West Coast Conference staff," said Lynn Holzman, Executive Senior Associate Commissioner/COO. "Glenn brings a high level of expertise and experience to a critical position for our Conference. His practical knowledge from both the private sector as well as the campus level brings a great perspective to the table."
Layendecker joined the WCC in March 2014 after most recently serving as the Associate Athletic Director for Business and External Relations at the University of Portland. In that role, Layendecker oversaw sponsorships and ticketing, budgeting and planning for Portland's intercollegiate teams, and the day to day financial operations within the athletic department.
Prior to his time at Portland, Layendecker was a member of the founding team at QuinStreet, Inc., a technology startup. He previously worked as an analyst for a financial services firm.
Layendecker earned his Bachelor of Arts at Yale University, where he was All-Ivy in tennis. He went on to play tennis on the ATP Tour for 9 years, rising to the top-50 in singles and top-35 in doubles. He was twice a quarterfinalist in doubles at the US Open.
Layendecker and his wife Kathy have two daughters, Brooke and Katie.
