WCC PLAYERS OF THE MONTH FOR MARCH SELECTED

Men's Tennis - Scott Doerner, Pepperdine University
Pepperdine's Scott Doerner earns his second straight WCC Player of the Month honor after leading No. 2 ranked Pepperdine to a perfect 8-0 record in dual matches during the month of March. Doerner posted a 6-2 record during the month, while playing exclusively at the No. 1 singles spot for the Waves. The senior went 5-2 against ranked opponents, highlighted by wins over then-No. 5 ranked Lars Poerschke of Baylor and then-No. 10 ranked Todd Paul of Wake Forest. The native of Melbourne, Australia is currently the highest ranked WCC singles competitor at No. 6 in the ITA rankings.

Women's Tennis - Bianca Dulgheru, Pepperdine University
Pepperdine's Bianca Dulgheru was named as the WCC Player of the Month after posting a nearly flawless month of March in singles competition. Dulgheru, the 2005 WCC Freshman of the Year, registered an 8-1 mark during March and recorded wins in her last six matches at the No. 1 singles position. The sophomore went 5-1 against ranked opponents, including victories over then-No. 15 ranked Amber Liu of Stanford and then-No. 12 ranked Zuzana Zemenova of Baylor. Dulgheru is currently the highest ranked WCC singles competitor at No. 25 in the ITA rankings.

Men's Doubles - Scott Doerner & Andre Begemann, Pepperdine University
Pepperdine's Scott Doerner and Andre Begemann ascended to the No. 1 ranking among doubles tandems on March 7, and went on to post a perfect 8-0 mark during the month of March, improving to 20-1 overall. The duo posted a 5-0 record against nationally ranked opponents, and remained atop the ITA doubles listing for the entire month.

Women's Doubles - Emma Murphy & Lauren Perl, University of San Diego
San Diego's Emma Murphy and Lauren Perl, who entered the ITA doubles listing at No. 57 during March, went on to post a 5-1 record in dual matches on the month. The duo's performance was highlighted by a win over then-No. 29 ranked Dinka Hadzic and Victoria Brymer of Washington on March 5, and the pairing is currently ranked No. 45 in the ITA doubles listing.

Men's Golf - Jason D'Amore, Loyola Marymount University
Loyola Marymount's Jason D'Amore enjoyed a standout month of March, winning the second tournament of his career and lowering his season average by an entire stroke. He started the month with a ninth place finish out of 106 golfers at the Braveheart Classic, carding a four-over-par 220. He then won his second tournament of his career thanks in large part to an opening round of 66 at the 2006 Callaway Golf Invitational, firing a seven-under-par 209. He finished March with a 20th place finish at the Cuesta Title/Cal Poly Intercollegiate, carding a three-over 219.

Women's Golf - Jessica Potter, University of San Francisco
San Francisco's Jessica Potter turned in an outstanding individual month for the Dons, capped with her first career medalist honors at the 2006 Duck Women's Golf Invitational. Potter fired a five-over-par 221 and won a playoff with Washington State's Anastasia Kostina to claim medalist honors. Potter opened March in impressive fashion, placing third at the 2006 San Jose Spartan Invitational with a two-round score of 151.
