WCC 25th Anniversary of Women's Athletics Team, presented by Zappos.com: Members 1-10

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The first group of individuals on the 25th Anniversary of Women's Athletics team features 10 outstanding WCC athletes across four sports - basketball, rowing, soccer, and volleyball. This group of individuals brought their sports to new heights while earning All-American, All-Academic, and WCC Player of the Year honors and several appearances at their respective NCAA tournaments.

Jill Austin, Loyola Marymount University
Rowing - Varsity Starboard, 2005-2008

  • First Team All-WCC (2006, 08)

  • All-WIRA (2006)

  • Helped LMU win only WCC championship (2006)

  • CRCA National Scholar Athlete (2006, 07)

  • WCC All-Academic (2006, 08)

  • IRA National Champion Lightweight 4 (2008)

  • First LMU women's rower to compete for the US National Team, appearing in the Under-23 World Championships (2007)

  • NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship award winner

    Justi Baumgardt-Yamada, University of Portland
    Soccer - Midfielder, 1993-1997

  • WCC Player of the Year (`96); WCC Freshman of the Year (`93)

  • Two-time MAC/Hermann Trophy Finalist (national player of the year, 1996, 1997)

  • Academic All-America Second Team (1997-98)

  • Three-time All-America including First Team (1996, 97)

  • Portland's all-time leader in assists and fifth in career scoring

  • Third in WCC career assists (50) and tied for eighth in career scoring (124)
