West Coast Conference Wraps Up "WCC Thanks Title IX" Campaign

July 9, 2013

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The West Coast Conference released the final video in the "WCC Thanks Title IX" Nine in Nine campaign that has spanned the entire 2012-13 school year. This month's video features the University of Portland's Tiffeny Milbrett.

Milbrett garnered WCC Offensive Player of the Year honors in 1992 and 1994, and was a three time NSCAA All-American as well as a three-time finalist for the Hermann Trophy and Missouri Athletic Club Award awarded to the top player in the nation. She also had a heralded international career that saw her win both Olympic and World Cup Championships. In this video, Milbrett speaks about the impact of Title IX on her athletic career.

The year-long "WCC Thanks Title IX" campaign, a conference-wide celebration of the 40th anniversary of Title IX, has been a demonstration of the conference's appreciation for the implementation of the legislation illustrated through stories and accounts shared by its very own student-athletes, coaches and administrators.

The following individuals have been profiled previously during the year-long program: Gonzaga's Peggy Sue Loroz (November 2012), Pepperdine's Nina Matthies (December 2012), BYU's Jennifer Rockwood (January 2013), San Diego President Dr. Mary Lyons (February 2013), Saint Mary's Tracy Sanders (March 2013), San Francisco's Jennifer Azzi (April 2013), Santa Clara's Stephanie Wilson (May 2013), and Loyola Marymount's Jamie Sanchez (June 2013).

The videos have been produced in collaboration with Four in the Fire Productions and NetWorks Sports Consulting. All videos and supporting content are housed on WCCsports.com and are available on the Conference's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/WCCsports), YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/WCCsports) and Twitter page (www.Twitter.com/WCCsports) with the hashtag #WCCTitleIX.
