WCC Announces Players of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- With the volleyball season in full swing with the women's soccer season, the West Coast Conference announced its WCC Players of the Week selections.

Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Tawni Martino, Loyola Marymount University, 5-4, Fr., F, Irvine, CA

Martino scored her first three career goals in just her second and third career matches, respectively, to lift LMU to its first two victories of the season. On Friday in the home opener against Denver, Martino made the most of her first career start by netting both Lion goals in a 2-1 victory. Her strike in the 30th minute put LMU on top and she notched the game-winner five minutes from time to give LMU its first win of the year. On Sunday at Cal State Bakersfield, Martino capped the game, and the weekend, by recording LMU's third goal in a 3-1 win. Martino's three goals came on just six shots.

Volleyball Player of the Week
Kaleigh Durket, Santa Clara University, 6-0, So., RS, El Dorado Hills, CA
Kaleigh Durket, a sophomore transfer from Colgate, was named to the Fresno State Classic All-Tournament team after helping her team to a 2-1 record by posting back-to-back matches with 20+ kills in the Broncos' last two games. Durket posted 20 kills and a .655 clip against Fresno State and followed that performance with 21 kills and a .472 attack percentage against UC Riverside. She also put together 26 digs on the weekend.

Durket currently leads the team in hitting at .482, averaging 3.92 kpg, 2.17 dpg and .25 sapg.
