WCC Announces IMG Staff

Sept. 17, 2008

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- Dan Shell and Katie Stockberger have been named to the IMG College corporate sponsorship team working on behalf of the West Coast Conference. Shell will serve as the General Manager of the WCC property and Stockberger will be the WCC's Sponsorship Services Executive.

On September 4, IMG College, a division of IMG, the world's premier sports, entertainment and media company, announced a four-year agreement with the West Coast Conference to exclusively manage the WCC's multi-media rights and corporate sponsorship packages.

"We are delighted to have Dan and Katie as members of the West Coast Conference team," WCC Commissioner Jamie Zaninovich said. "Dan brings a wealth of knowledge of the WCC and its inner workings to the table, while Katie's experience with IMG College from her time at the University of Arizona will also be an asset."

Shell, a graduate of the University of California, is no stranger to the West Coast Conference. He served as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Saint Mary's from 2001-08 and was the Men's Basketball Administrative Assistant at Pepperdine from 1998-99. At Saint Mary's, Shell's responsibilities included player development, game scheduling, student-athlete academic oversight and negotiating the program's largest regional television contract ever.

Shell also served as Director of Men's Basketball Operations at perennial college powers Oklahoma and Stanford. Shell was director of summer camps for both programs, and also gained experience with video exchange, event planning and booster club relations.

"I am very much looking forward to joining the successful IMG College team, specifically at a property for which I think has tremendous growth potential," Shell said. "It is an exciting time for the West Coast Conference, a league that I have a great deal of pride and respect for, and I look forward to assisting in building the WCC brand nationwide."

Stockberger comes to the WCC from IMG's University of Arizona property, where she served as a sponsorship services associate since January of this year. Stockberger, who is a Bay Area native and graduate of the University of Arizona, previously served as CSTV Campus Rep at U of A and as a special events intern for the Sacramento River Cats minor league baseball club.
