WCCTV took a look at this year's round robin sports--men's soccer, women's soccer, and women's volleyball--as they head into conference play. Cross country, a non-round robin sport, will meet conference competition at the 2009 WCC Cross Country Championships in Belmont, Calif.
This year, WCC men's soccer, women's soccer, and women's volleyball played tough competition and boasted combined winning records.
In WCC men's soccer, Portland, San Francisco, and Loyola Marymount showed up in the national polls. As a whole, the WCC men's soccer teams put together a 26-17-8 record, a huge improvement from last year's 11-26-14 record.
WCC women's soccer enters conference play with winning records. As of September 29, the WCC is the only conference in the country that can claim that all of its member schools own winning records.
With two non-conference matches remaining, WCC volleyball finished with a 54-47 record against non-conference opponents. San Diego moved up to No. 20 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll, while Pepperdine and Saint Mary's continue to receive votes.
