Gonzaga holds a 27-14 advantage in the all-time series since 1985, but Portland has taken four of the last five matches including the teams' last meeting. Santa Clara welcomes Gonzaga to Buck Shaw Stadium on Sunday in the regular season finale for both squads. The Broncos clinched the program's ninth WCC Championship last weekend, and captured the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with the title. Gonzaga enters the weekend with a 7-8-2 overall record and a 4-5-1 mark in conference play, and the Zags are coming off of a big win over then-No. 16 ranked San Francisco last weekend.

The Broncos feature the top defense in the WCC, as SCU paces the circuit with a team goals against average of 0.85. Goalkeeper Joseph Buttitta was recently named WCC Player of the Month for October after leading the Broncos to an undefeated 6-0-2 mark with four shutouts in eight matches. Gonzaga ranks second in the conference only to San Diego in scoring offense, as the Zags are averaging a 1.65 goals per contest. Junior George Josten is tied for the WCC lead with nine goals, and teammate John Palladino has found the back of the net five times for the Bulldogs this season.
