WCC Announces Players of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- With the 2010-11 men's and women's basketball season in action, the West Coast Conference is pleased to announce its WCC Players of the Week selections.

Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Kevin Foster, Santa Clara, RS SO, Guard
Redshirt sophommore Kevin Foster was a huge part of Santa Clara's 67-63 victory over cross-town rival San Jose State on Friday night. Foster scored 26 points, including hitting 9 of 11 free throws. He played a team-high 35 minutes with a team-high 4 assists. Playing 31.7 mpg this season, he is averaging 18.7 ppg and leads the WCC in threes made per game. He also is averaging a team-leading 3.8 apg.

Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Kayla Standish, Gonzaga, JR, Forward
The junior helped Gonzaga defeat Washington State for the second time in 13 days. Standish hit 10-of-14 (71.4%) from the floor and sank both free throw attempts for a season-high 22 points; only her second career 20-plus point game and three points off tying her career high. She also grabbed seven rebounds, blocked four shots, made two steals, dished out two assists and had no turnovers in 26 minutes of action.
