SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for November 2, 2015.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – NADIA GOMES, SO., F - BYU
Sophomore forward Nadia Gomes scored twice in 14 seconds to lead BYU over then-first place Loyola Marymount. Gomes scored her first one on a cross from Paige Hunt. Gomes turned and fired to the far post for the game-winner. After Jocelyn Loomis intercepted LMU’s kickoff, her through ball found Gomes who got a touch right before the LMU keeper reached it. Gomes sidestepped the keeper and put it in the goal.
The goals are Gomes’ sixth and seventh of the season and 10th of her career. They were also the fourth and fifth in WCC play. The consecutive goals over 14 seconds are the third quickest in BYU history and are the quickest consecutive goals by the same BYU player in 15 years.
Also Nominated: Madalyn Schiffel, San Francisco; Cheyenne Somers, Pacific
