PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Gonzaga’s men’s basketball team will take on Washington in the opening round of the Battle 4 Atlantis on Nov. 25 in Paradise Island, Bahamas, tournament organizers announced today.

The Zags will renew the in-state rivalry with the Huskies one year earlier than planned, as the teams had inked a four-year home-and-home series to begin in 2016-17. The teams last played Dec. 9, 2006, in the McCarthey Athletic Center, with the host Bulldogs taking a 97-77 victory. The Huskies had snapped a seven-game losing streak in the series the previous season with a 99-95 home victory.

Gonzaga is coming off a school-record 35-3 season accompanied by a record 22-game win streak, WCC regular season and tournament titles, and a trip to the Elite Eight last season. The Zags return leading scorer Kyle Wiltjer, leading rebounder Domantas Sabonis and two-year starter Przemek Karnowski. All three were All-WCC performers, with Wiltjer earning multiple All-America honors.
