SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for September 14, 2015.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JILL FARLEY, SO., D – LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
Sophomore defender Jill Farley was key in the Lions’ 2-0 weekend, playing all 187 minutes of action as a member of the Loyola Marymount defensive line while also scoring the game-winning golden goal in an upset of No. 21/23 Long Beach State.
In Friday’s match versus the 49ers, Farley launched a 35-yard left-footed shot into the far post netting seven minutes into overtime, giving the Lions a 1-0 victory. On Sunday, she played all 90 minutes in LMU’s third straight shutout victory. LMU has four shutouts on the season, has allowed just seven goals (0.96 GAA) and is currently riding a five-match win streak.
