SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for October 5, 2015.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MADALYN SCHIFFEL, SR., GK – SAN FRANCISCO
Senior goalkeeper Madalyn Schiffel was instrumental in directing the defense in San Francisco's 1-0 victory over No. 19 Santa Clara, helping give the Dons their first win over the Broncos in program history and their first win over a ranked opponent since 2006. Schiffel collected five saves in the match, including a number of diving stops over the final 15 minutes that helped deny numerous Santa Clara chances just as the Broncos were mounting an intense offensive attack. The victory also marked Schiffel’s WCC-best seventh shutout of the season.
Also Nominated: Nadia Gomes, BYU; Cassidy Nicks, Loyola Marymount
