SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Pacific senior midfielder has been named the West Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Cervantes had a two-goal week for the Tigers in road wins at No. 11 San Diego State and Cal State Fullerton to propel Pacific to a 7-2 record towards the close of the non-conference season.
The midfielder scored the second goal in the 2-0 upset at the 11th-ranked Aztecs, sending San Diego State to its first loss of the season. He then scored the game-winning goal in the 2-0 win at Cal State Fullerton, marking his third-straight game with a goal.
Cervantes has proven himself to be an integral part of a Tiger squad that leads the West Coast Conference with 19 goals. He leads the team in goals (4), points (11), shots (21) and shots on goal (9). The senior has also logged a point in every game of the Tigers’ current six-game win streak.
