SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Volleyball Player of the Week for September 14, 2015.

Junior outside hitter Lexi Elman earned tournament MVP honors at the 2015 Bluejay Invitational after leading Pacific to the invite title and a 3-0 record against three teams that all were 2014 NCAA Tournament participants. Opening the tournament, Elman led the Tigers to a sweep of Cal State Bakersfield, producing 14 kills, two aces, two blocks, and eight digs. Turning right around with the morning match of day two and facing Lipscomb, a team receiving votes in the top-25 poll, Lexi went off for 18 kills on .417 hitting while also coming up with nine digs to lead Pacific to its second sweep of the weekend.

Saving the best for last, the junior came up with a huge effort in what was the championship match against the host Bluejays of Creighton, a second team receiving votes in the top-25. Elman tagged the Creighton defense for 25 kills, three short of her career high. In addition to her kills at the net, Lexi produced from the service line as she recorded a career-high six aces to finish with a D.J. Sokol Arena record 31.0 total points. Not done with her all-around effort, the junior came up with 12 digs to record her sixth double-double of the season.
