SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Pepperdine senior forward Rylee Baisden been named the West Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. It marks the second consecutive season that a Wave has won the first Player of the Week honor of the season.
Baisden propelled the Waves to a 2-0 record on opening week, scoring three goals and notching two assists to lead the Pepperdine attack. The senior scored both game-winning goals to cap the weekend.
Baisden was a part of all three goals in a 3-1 win over No. 20 Arizona, scoring once and posting two assists for a four-point game. She followed that up with a two-goal performance against Kentucky in a 3-0 win for the Waves. She scored the opening two goals for Pepperdine in the win.
Baisden now has a team-high eight points through two games, nearly matching her career high for goals in a season, which is four.
