SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The Pepperdine Waves have swept the West Coast Conference women’s tennis weekly honors for the fourth time this season with freshman Luisa Stefani named the Singles Player of the Week and the duo of Stefani and Jean Rungerldkriangkrai named the Women’s Doubles Team of the Week.

From the number one singles position, 2nd-ranked Luisa Stefani won 24 of 27 games to once again help lead the Waves to two solid victories against West Coast Conference opponents this weekend as Pepperdine secured back-to-back sweeps over Saint Mary’s and Pacific. Against the Gaels, the freshman put down Jana McCord with a strong 6-1, 6-0 victory to clinch the Waves sweep on the day. In Saturday’s 4-0 win over Pacific, Stefani downed Viktoriya Dzyuba with a 6-1, 6-1 final mark to give the Waves a 3-0 advantage en route to the sweep. Stefani now boasts and impressive 14-1 record in spring dual campaigns, all of which have been earned from the number one singles position. She has gone 17-4 against nationally ranked opposition in the 2015-16 season, and 28-4 overall and is currently on a four-match winning streak.

Stefani has been named the Singles Player of the Week four times this season, and her selection makes it seven times in nine weeks that a freshman has earned the conference’s Singles Player of the Week award this season.

The duo of Runglerdkriangkrai and Stefani repeat as the Doubles Team of the Week after the 29th-ranked duo bested 59th-ranked Jana McCord and Jamie Pawid of Saint Mary’s with a 6-3 result to clinch the doubles point in their lone pairing of the week. The duo is now 15-3 overall throughout the 2015-16 campaign, including a 9-2 record in dual play and a 4-2 record over nationally ranked opposition. Runglerdkrirangkrai and Stefani have gone 4-1 from the number one doubles position and 5-1 from the number two doubles position this season.

This marks the fourth time this season that Runglerdkriangkrai and Stefani have been named the Doubles Team of the Week and the second consecutive.
