San Diego's Hood Earns #WCChoops Weekly Honor

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for December 28, 2015.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MAYA HOOD, R-JR., F - SAN DIEGO
Maya Hood helped get USD off to a perfect start in WCC action as the Toreros upended the BYU Cougars 78-65 in the conference opener. BYU entered the game with the No. 11 RPI in the country and was receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll.

In the victory, Hood recorded her team-leading sixth double-double of the season after scoring a team-high 17 points to go with a career-high 18 rebounds. Her 18 rebounds are tied for third best single-game rebounding mark in program history. A dominant force on the floor and on the glass, Hood was the driving force for the Toreros victory.
