SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's cross country team hosted their annual 6k invitational at Morley Field at Balboa Park Saturday afternoon. Freshman Ashlen Nimmo recorded a team high 9th place overall with a time of 25:03.58. Julie-Anne Bailey from Point Loma Nazarene University took first place in a time of 23:33.30 followed by teammate Samantha From recording a time of 23.46.09. Kyla Maher of Pepperdine University finished third place with a time of 24:16.19.
For San Diego, sophomore Julie Shultz finished a team high second place and 17th place overall with a time of 25:53.58, followed by teammate freshman Mariana Monasi in a time of 25:55.05. Senior Kristin Jackson finished 22nd overall in a time of 26:17.53. Freshman Cassandra Murzi posted a time of 26:44.85 for 25th place. Senior Christie Osborne finished 27th place with a time of 26:55.80 followed by sophomore Riley Porter in 28th place with a time of 27:01.15. Freshman Megan Kachigan finished in 32nd place with a time of 27:39.30. Sophomore Sarah Coxhead finished 34th with a time of 28:06.27. Freshman Kaitlin Maholy placed 35th overall with a time of 28:34.73. Junior Jennifer Lagedrost finished in 39th place with a time of 28:59.68.
San Diego finished in fourth place overall at the race. San Diego spends the upcoming weeks training before flying back to Riverdale, NY on September 30 to run in the Iona Meet of Champions.
