(Sacramento, CA) - USF Women's cross country took a first place finish at the Sacramento State Invitational on Saturday morning at Granite Regional Park. Don men took third in the five team event.
Junior Jennifer Hartford finished first in the Women's 5k with a time of 18:30. Six Dons women crossed the line in the top ten, including senior Renee Stribling (4th, 19:02), junior Lucy Miller (5th, 19:02), freshman Jennifer Gross (6th, 19:09), sophomore Michelle Born (7th, 19:12), and junior Elizabeth Noey (10th, 19:16).
On the men's side, junior Cheyne Inman took the top spot for the Dons with a seventh place finish in the 8k with a time of 25:05. Only five men ran for USF in the event, with senior Jacob Marx finishing 16th in 25:51, junior Kenny Sparks came in 19th at 26:01, senior Jorge Martinez finished 22nd in 26:35, and freshman Micael Smith came in 29th in 27:14.
USF returns to action on September 30th with a team in Willamette, OR at the Willamette Invitational and another team in Palo Alto, CA at the Stanford Invitational.
