FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - Last Saturday marked the first time this year the Torero women cross country team traveled outside the state to compete. The Toreros took the line in Minnesota, at the Roy Griak Cross Invitational.
For the third time this year the Toreros were lead by sophomore Ashlen Nimmo who posted a time of 25:10 to notch her into 198th place. Next the tandem of Megan Kachigan and Sarah Coxhead finished together in 225th and 226th with times of 25:54 and 25:56.
Not far behind freshman Laura Wells ran a personal best of 26:11 over the six kilometer course to earn her 235th place. Nichole Riley had one of her best races this year as she placed 237th with a time of 26:19. Completing the seven women team for the Toreros were two more freshman Erica Eynon and Sally Kallet who both had strong finishing's as Erica placed 239th with a time of 26:34 and Sally close behind with a time of 28:34 which earned her 249th place.
The Torero women now look forward to next weekend when they race a little closer to home at UCSD Triton Invitational.
