Jacobs and XC Men Perform Well at Regionals

Nov. 19, 2007

EUGENE, Ore. - USD raced at the NCAA Western Regional at the Springfield country club in Eugene Oregon. The weather conditions were ideal for racing, and the flat golf course set the stage for a great finale for the USD Toreros. Chris Jacobs did not disappoint the quest to add another great chapter in USD running history.

Jacobs completed the 10,000 meters in 32:45.15 (106th). His time moved him to the 3rd fastest 10,000 meters in USD history. Running behind Chris was Freshmen Kevin O'Malley 34:32.9 (154th), Junior Mark Hubbard 37:04 (171st) and Freshmen Clint Gordon 39:09.80 174th.

"I am proud of the way both teams raced at regional meet" said head coach Will Guarino. "This is the highest level of racing competition in the country and it is great to gain this valuable experience for our young Men's and Women's squads."
