Moraga, CA- Saint Mary's head cross country coach Randy Rau announced his 2007 schedule today. The Gael harriers will compete in seven meets with the chance of tacking on two more in the way of the NCAA Regional and Championship meets. Six invitationals highlight the slate for SMC.
"This is a very exciting schedule that features some very prestigious and challenging meets for us," Rau said.
The Gaels begin the season at the 37th Annual Aggie Open on the Wildhorse Golf Course in Davis, CA on September 8. The next weekend Saint Mary's heads south to San Diego to compete in the 63rd Annual Aztec Invitational at Balboa Park.
SMC will then head on its longest trip of the season when it travels to the Hawaiian Islands. The Gaels will run in paradise as they will compete in the University of Hawai'i Invitational on the Kane`ohe Klipper Golf Course on the Marine Corps Base Hawai`i. The Gaels then return to the 34th Annual Stanford Invitational on September 29 at the Stanford Golf Course.
"We look forward to returning to the Hawaiian Islands for the UH Invite. The next week at the Stanford Invitational will be a good gauge as it marks the midpoint of the season," Rau added.
Saint Mary's then heads across the bridge to San Francisco to partake in the San Francisco State Invitational on October 6 at Golden Gate Park. The Gaels wrap up their preseason slate with the Santa Clara Invite. The Baylands Park meet in Sunnyvale, CA is scheduled for October 13.
