LOS ANGELES - The second weekend of cross country action takes Loyola Marymount to the campus of UC Irvine, where the Lions will run in the Asics/UC Irvine Invitational Saturday morning. There will be two women's races (both 5k) and one men's 8k, with the first race of the morning beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Anteater Recreation Center (ARC) Fields. Please note that this is a change in venue for the event.
The Lions, who topped Pepperdine in dual action last weekend, will enter runners in all three races Saturday at UC Irvine. A few women will run the early 8:30 a.m. 5k, while most of the returning women will run at 9:00 a.m. The men's race begins at 9:45 a.m. Last weekend's individual winners Laura Mickelson and Trevor Wiseman are both slated to run.
Earlier this week, the West Coast Conference released its preseason coaches' poll. LMU cross country was predicted to finish in the top-3 on both the men's and the women's sides.
