The USF men's and women's cross country teams will travel to the Pacific Northwest this Saturday to compete in the Sundodger Invitational. The meet is hosted by the University of Washington at Lincoln Park. The start time for the women's 6k invitational field is set for 10:25 a.m., with the men's 8k invitational field starting at 11:00 a.m.
Competing for the Dons will be seniors Jennifer Hartford, Lucy Miller and Fallon Heffernan, junior Michelle Born along with sophomores Alice Hobbs, Mary Verran and freshman Nicole Bowler. Verran was the top finisher at the USF Invite two weeks ago when she placed 13th overall with a time of 18:55. The Sundodger Invite will be the first race for Hartford after she set the school record in the 10k last track season.
The men will be led by seniors Cheyne Inman and Kenny Sparks, who both earned WCC First Team honors last season, along with juniors Alex Nelson, Jordan Zwick and freshmen Hayden Healy, Joshua Horeled and Ravi Amarawansa. At the USF Invite, Sparks who placed 18th overall with a time of 26:53, led the men.
Competing against the Dons will be a deep and talented field that consists of the host Huskies, Washington St., UC Davis, Eastern and Western Washington, Idaho and WCC foe Santa Clara.
