The 2008 season got under way earlier this month with Santa Clara and Portland coming away with first place finishes on both the men's and women's side. The Broncos won the USF Invitational and the Pilots took home the Pier Park Preview crown.

8. Honolulu, Hi (Univ. Hawaii); 9. Riverside, Ca (UC Riverside); 10. St. Paul, MN (Univ. Minnesota Golf Course); 11. Palo Alto, Ca (Stanford University)

  • At the Clash of the Northwest, Brett Withers (19:59.1), eighth overall, and Colby Litzenberger (20:20), 14th overall, led the way.

  • For the women, Laura Volcheff (16:21), 15th overall, and Molly Funk (16:53.4), 21st overall, were the top finishers for the Bulldogs.
  • At the San Diego State Aztec Invitational, Connor Pastoor set a new LMU course record with a time of 25:52, placing 32nd overall.

  • For the women, Tara Erdmann was the top finisher for the Lions, finishing second overall with a time of 17:40. Her time is now No. 2 all time for LMU on the Balboa Park course.
  • At the Asics/UC Irvine Invitational, the Waves were led by Jimmy Kelley (26:44.9), 38th overall, and Seth Allison (26:45), 39th overall.

  • For the women, Chelsea Wishard and Lauren Lodge both placed in the top 15, with Wishard placing 12th with a time of 18:22 and Lodge placing 13th with a time of 18:24.
  • At the West Coast Preview, UP was led by David Kinsella (25:06), who won the individual title, and Robbie Reid (25:48), who placed 3rd.

  • For the women, Hailey Knettles ran a time of 22:56 to finish third, while Cori Moore finished with a time of 23:10, to place fifth.
  • At the Aggie Open, Mario Mendoza set a Saint Mary's record with a time of 25:20 to finish second overall, just 12 seconds behind the top finisher.

  • Also setting a school record was Karrie Hagedorn, who finished with a time of 21:50, to finish third overall, helping the Gaels to a third place finish.
  • At the San Diego State Aztec Invitational, Chris Jacobs led the way with time of 26:03, 43rd overall, to set a new USD record for the course.

  • On the women's side, Liz Ramos led the way with a time of 18:45 to finish 31st overall, while teammate Tracy Vargo finished with a time of 18:49 to place 334th overall.
  • At the Sacramento State Jamboree, Ganbileg Bor led the Dons with a fifth place finish (20:15), while Jeremy Grace placed eighth (20:29).

  • The women placed first and second with Michell Born finishing with a time of 17:27 and Nicole Bowler finishing with a time of 17:37, to help the Dons secure a first place overall finish.
  • At the West Coast Preview, Robbie Reid led the way, with a time of 25:48 to finish third overall, with Chris Gumbs finishing in 26:07, to place sixth. The men finished second overall behind host Portland.

  • At the Sacramento State Jamboree, Veronica Vazquez was the Broncos' top finisher placing eighth with a time of 18:00, while teammate Stephanie Wilson was right behind her with a time of 18:04 to finish 10th. The women placed second overall behind San Francisco.
