Liz Noey Wins San Francisco State Invitational

(San Francisco, CA) - Junior Liz Noey won the 6k at the 2006 San Francisco State Invitational, helping the women's team earn a second place overall finish. Noey won the event in a time of 23:02.

Freshman Mary Verran earned fifth place, coming in at 23:41. Two other runners finished in the top 20, with junior Katie Matl finishing 11th in 23:49 and junior Meredith Degyansky finished 16th in 23:59. Freshman Alice Hobbs finished 25th in 24:16, and sophomore Ashton LeSieur finished 58th in 25:44.

Three runners competed from the men's team, with junior Kenny Sparks finishing highest for USF in the 8k race. Sparks came in 17th with a time of 26:12. Sophomore Alex Nelson finished 21st in 26:33 and senior Jorge Martinez finished 28th in 26:52.

USF returns to split squad action on Saturday, October 14 at the Bronco Invitational in Baylands Pard, CA and the Cal Poly Invitational at Questa College.
