SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference is pleased to recognize its September Women's Cross Country Player of the Month, Grace Graham-Zamudio from Loyola Marymount.
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLAYER OF THE MONTH
GRACE GRAHAM-ZAMUDIO, JUNIOR, LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
Loyola Marymount junior Grace Graham-Zamudio is the WCC Women's Cross Country Player of the Month for September. New to the Lion pack this fall, Graham-Zamudio has been LMU's early leader through three meets, earning a pair of first-place finishes and most recently taking eighth at the highly-competitive Stanford Invitational. In LMU's season-opener, the Mark Covert Classic hosted by Cal State Fullerton, Graham-Zamudio won the individual 5k title in a time of 17:45.5. Her performance helped lead LMU to a team title as well.
Two weeks later at the WCC Preview Meet in Malibu, Graham-Zamudio clinched her second straight individual title while also leading the Lions to a second straight team title in a field that included four other WCC teams. The race, which she finished in 20:50.90, was also her first career 6k. Most recently at the Stanford Invitational, Graham-Zamudio took eighth in 21:37 as the Lions placed third in the team standings.
