The USF Men's and Women's Cross Country teams will compete in the Santa Clara Invitational this Saturday at Baylands Park. The meet will start at 9 am with the women's open 5k, followed by the women's invitational 5k at 9:45 am, with the men's 8k race at 10:30 am.
Last year at the Bronco Invite the women placed second behind national champion Stanford and were led by seniors Lucy Miller and Jen Hartford, who placed seventh and 12th overall. The men placed seventh last season and were led by senior Cheyne Inman who placed 28th.
Competing against the Dons will be a deep field that consists of many schools that are currently ranked in the top 15 in the West Coast Region. The top team will be Stanford, along with Long Beach State, UC Davis, Boise State, New Mexico State, Cal State Fullerton, along with WCC foes Santa Clara, Loyola Marymount and St. Mary's. Nevada and Sonoma State will also compete, but in the women's Invitational only.
