SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has announced that it will broadcast the 2011 Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships live from the Crystal Springs Course in Belmont, Calif. on October 29. The livestream will be available at the Cross Country Championships Central page on WCCsports.com and YouTube.com.
"We're very excited to bring our WCC Cross Country Championships this Saturday to a live audience," said WCC Commissioner Jamie Zaninovich. "A conference championship is crucial to the student-athlete experience, and it's very important for us to give people up and down the west coast and throughout the country an opportunity to see this great event live."
The broadcast will be produced by WebStream Productions, one of the nation's leaders in live-streaming and content creation. Viewers will see the start and finish, as well as the key checkpoints on the course via a four-camera shoot with graphics and commentators.
This year's race will feature all nine WCC schools, including BYU, who will be racing for the first time at a West Coast Conference championship. The Portland men's team has won 32 consecutive WCC titles. The competition will also look to unseat two-time defending champion San Francisco on the women's side.
The men's race on Saturday will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed immediately by the women's race at 9:45 a.m. Visit WCCsports.com for more information on Saturday's race, including video previews later in the week.
