Miller 51st At NCAA West Region Meet

FAIRVIEW, Ore. -Gonzaga University senior Joe Miller finished 51st at the NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championship on Saturday, his fourth straight appearance in the meet.

Miller covered the 10K course in 31:38.89. He finished 39th last year at Stanford in 31:18 for his best regional finish.

Neftalem Araia of Stanford won the race in 30:05.88.

The University of Oregon captured the men's title with 69 points, followed by Stanford with 88. Those two teams will advance to the NCAA Championship.

On the women's side, Stanford's Arianna Lambie captured the individual title in 20:58.85 over the 6K layout in helping her team to the title with 42 points. UC Santa Barbara was second with 72 points.The two teams will advance to the NCAA Championship on Nov. 20 hosted by Indiana State University.
