Malibu, Calif. - Sophomore right hander Barry Enright scattered seven hits while pitching his first career complete-game to help No. 23 Pepperdine defeat visiting Oklahoma State 6-3 and clinch the three-game series Saturday afternoon at Eddy D. Field Stadium.
Enright (4-1) allowed three runs (two earned), walked one and struck out one to lead the Waves (12-9) to their season-high fourth consecutive win. The Cowboys lost their second straight game to fall to 9-4.
After cutting a 2-0 deficit in half with a run in the fourth inning, Pepperdine scored four times with two outs in the fifth against Cowboys left-hander Charles Benoit to take a 5-2 lead.
Senior left fielder Brandon Daguio started the rally with a one-out walk and, after being sacrificed to second by senior second baseman David Uribes, the Waves received four consecutive singles from Danny Worth, Chad Tracy, Nick Kliebert and Donald Brown to take a 5-2 lead. Brown's base hit was a two-run single and finished Benoit's (2-1) day.
Oklahoma State scored a run in the top of the sixth before Pepperdine junior first baseman Justin Tellam completed the scoring with a leadoff home run in the eighth inning.
Tracy led the Waves with three hits while Brown collected three RBI.
Pepperdine and Oklahoma State concluded their series on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
