Box Score

The No. 21 ranked Waves remained hot as they routed Northwestern with an 8-0 victory on Friday. The win was their fourth straight and improved Pepperdine to 16-11 on the season.

Senior Paul Coleman silenced the Wildcat bats, surrendering only four hits over 8.0 innings while striking out four. The Waves' ace improved to 4-1 on the year.

Pepperdine's offense provided more than enough support as they jumped all over the Wildcats for eight runs on 10 hits and six walks. Eight Waves collected hits in the game, including multi-hit performances by Danny Worth and David Uribes.

Pepperdine took an early lead thanks to a two RBI single in the first by Nick Kliebert. The Waves never looked back as they scored in each of their last four at-bats to put the game out of reach.

George Kontas took the loss after allowing seven earned runs over 7.2 innings before being relieved by Mike Folan. Kontas dropped to 0-5 on the year.

Bryce Stowell pitched the final inning for the Waves allowing one walk before inducing a ground ball to Worth for the game-ending double play.

The Waves and Wildcats continue play on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. game at Eddy D. Field Stadium and will conclude the weekend series on Sunday at 12 noon.
