Moraga, CA - On January 21, the Saint Mary's baseball team hosted the third annual Brother Agnon "Meet the Players Night", presented by The Friends of Saint Mary's College. A record turnout of more than 250 alums, donors, parents, friends and student-athletes attended the reception and dinner held at the Soda Center on the Saint Mary's campus.
"The event was a huge success," said head coach Jedd Soto. "I was very pleased with the turnout and all the support the program received. I look forward to the continued success of the event in the upcoming years."
Former San Francisco Giant great, J.T. Snow, served as the keynote speaker for the banquet and shared a number of anecdotes, including being recruited by SMC in the early 80's as a high school football player. Snow also spoke about his passion for collegiate baseball, and what it means to be a true student-athlete.
Another highlight of the evening was a very spirited live auction including a private fishing and hunting trip to Alaska that was second to none! The live and silent auction generated more than $25,000 for the baseball program. Thanks goes out to all those who supported the event and the baseball program!
