SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The 17th-ranked University of San Diego baseball team's head coach Rich Hill will appear on Channel 6 Fox's Sunday Sports Show to talk about the USD baseball program. The segment will air at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Sunday evening.
Hill will be talking about the success of the Toreros baseball program, the series win over Texas this past weekend as well as the upcoming series against the University of Southern California Trojans.
The Toreros have leaped back into the top-25 this week as they check in as high as No. 17 in the latest Baseball America top-25 poll and to No. 18 in the latest Collegiate Baseball top-30 poll.
The Trojans enter the series with a 3-2 overall record after dropping two-of-three to Long Beach State this past week and defeating Loyola Marymount on Tuesday. The USC offense is led by Grant Green, who is hitting .357 with a team-leading five hits, two triples and nine RBI. On the mound, Brad Boxberger leads the way with his 0-1 record and 0.00 ERA after throwing in five complete innings. The Trojans are under the direction of first-year head coach Chad Kreuter, who is only the fourth head coach in the history of the program.
USD will begin the three-game series with the Trojans on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a Saturday game at 1:30. The series finale has a first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. at USD's Cunningham Stadium.
