Pepperdine's Meyer, LMU's Megill honored by WCC

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has named its Rawlings Pitcher and Player of the Week for February 18, 2013.

RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
TREVOR MEGILL, SO., RHP, LOYOLA MARYMOUNT

Loyola Marymount sophomore pitcher Trevor Megill is the first Rawlings West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week in 2013. Megill tossed seven scoreless innings against Utah on Saturday, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out 11 Ute hitters as the Lions recorded a 1-0 victory.

RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SAM MEYER, SR., 1B, PEPPERDINE

Pepperdine senior first baseman Sam Meyer is 2013's first Rawlings West Coast Conference Player of the Week award-winner. Meyer enjoyed a strong start to his senior campaign, batting .467 with three doubles, a home run and eight RBI in a four-game sweep of Western Michigan. Meyer drove in at least one run in each game, including a season-high four in game two of the series Saturday and had at least one extra base hit in each game against the Broncos. Through the weekend, Meyer posted a slugging percentage of .867.
