WCC Player of the Week
Donald Brown, Pepperdine

Donald Brown enjoyed an outstanding weekend as Pepperdine took two-of-three from then-No. 8 ranked Tulane on the road over the weekend. The sophomore batted .636 (7-for-11) for the series, with five runs scored and seven RBI. Included among his hits were a double and a home run in Sunday's series finale win, in which he went 4-for-4 with three runs and five RBI. Brown had 11 total bases, a 1.000 slugging percentage, and a .643 on-base percentage on the weekend.

WCC Pitcher of the Week
Brad Meyers, LMU

Brad Meyers produced his best outing of the season in LMU's 3-2 win over San Jose State on Friday. The sophomore went the distance, tossing nine innings and striking out a career-high six batters to record his first victory of the season. It mark the first career complete game for Meyers, who did not issue a single walk and allowed just one extra base hit against the Spartans. The complete game effort was the first for the Lion pitching staff this season.

WCC Success Against Ranked Opponents
The WCC has enjoyed success against ranked opponents, as the league has posted a cumulative record of 15-9 against ranked teams. Santa Clara took two-of-three from No. 22 Cal Poly, while Pepperdine duplicated that performance at No. 8 Tulane last weekend.

Pepperdine's Donald Brown Named To National Honor Roll
Pepperdine's Donald Brown was named to the College Baseball Foundation Honor Roll on February 27, after batting .636 (7-for-11), with five runs scored and seven RBI, as the Wave's took a road series at Tulane. Included among his hits were a double and home run in Sunday's series finale, in which he went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and a career-high four five RBI. Brown is the third WCC player named to the weekly honor roll, following teammate Barry Enright and San Diego's Josh Butler (2/20).

WCC Team Notes

Gonzaga Bulldogs (7-6 / 0-0 WCC)
- Gonzaga fell to 7-6 on the season after suffering a three-game sweep at Washington over the weekend.

- Scott Campbell remained hot at the plate, going 6-for-13 in three games against the Huskies, including a 4-for-5 performance with his first home run of the season in Sunday's 7-5 loss. Campbell enters the week hitting at a .400 clip.

- Jackson Brennan has blasted a team-high five home runs so far this season, including a solo shot in Friday's 14-4 loss. Brennan's five dingers already eclipses his career total of three, all of which were hit in 2005.

- Gonzaga travels to the Banana Belt Classic in Lewiston, ID this week. The Bulldogs will face host Lewis-Clark State (3/2), Washington State (3/3), and Chicago State (3/4). GU will then travel to face Washington State on Sunday (3/5).

- GU travels to Washington for a three-game series this weekend.

LMU Lions (4-10 / 0-0 WCC)
- The Lions rebounded from a loss to UC Riverside on Tuesday to take two-of-three from San Jose State on the road over the weekend.

- Brad Meyers tossed his first career complete game in Friday's 3-2 win over the Spartans, striking out six batters and allowing just one extra base hit to pick up his first win of the season. Meyers has posted a team-best 3.18 ERA.

- Chris Pettit collected a career-high four hits in Saturday's win, driving in five runs as the Lions notched a 15-7 win.

- DeAndre Miller stole three bases over the weekend, including two in Saturday's win to bring his team-leading swipe total to eight.

- LMU hosts UC Santa Barbara for three games this weekend.

Pepperdine Waves (8-6 / 0-0 WCC)
- Pepperdine traveled to Tulane over the weekend and took two-of-three from the then-No. 8 ranked Green Wave.

- Paul Coleman improved to 2-0 on the season after tossing six innings and striking out five in Friday's 6-2 win over Tulane. Friday's outing gives Coleman 77 career appearances in a Pepperdine uniform, tying him for sixth on the Waves' career appearances list.

- Barry Enright was credited with the victory in Sunday's 9-5 win, improving to 3-1 on the season. All three of Enright's wins this season have come against ranked opposition.

- Seven of Pepperdine's 14 contests so far this season have come against opponents ranked in the top-25. The Waves currently hold a 5-2 record against ranked opposition.

- The Waves host No. 7 Cal State Fullerton (2/28) before traveling to San Diego State.

Portland Pilots (2-6 / 0-0 WCC)
- Portland returned to action following a week off, and rebounded from three losses to hand North Dakota State a 3-2 defeat at the River City Classic on Saturday.

- Josh Roberts and Austin Dirkx combined to throw a five-hitter in the Pilots' 3-2 win over the Bison. Roberts went 7.1 innings to notch his first win, while Dirkx closed out the game to earn his first save. Dirkx has not surrendered a run in five appearances this season.

- Chase Powell went three-for-nine over the weekend and currently ranks second on the team with a .367 batting average.

- Danny Meier hit his first collegiate home run in Friday's loss to Sacramento State.

- UP travels to Fresno State for a three-game series this weekend.

Saint Mary's Gaels (6-6 / 0-0 WCC)
- The Gaels topped San Jose State on Tuesday before dropping two-of-three at the River City Classic over the weekend. Saint Mary's defeated North Dakota State, 10-2, before falling to BYU and then-No. 10 ranked Oregon State.

- Joel Fountain picked up his first victory of the season on Friday, tossing six innings and striking out five batters in the win over the Bison.

- Sam Carter provided the run support in Friday's win, scoring twice and driving in four runs. Carter slugged a two-run home run, marking his second long ball of the season.

- Delaney Gallagher collected three base hits over the weekend to bring his team-leading hits total to 17. Gallagher currently leads the team with a .415 (17-for-41) batting average.

- SMC travels to Pacific (2/28) before returning home to host Georgetown for three games.

San Diego Toreros (7-6 / 0-0 WCC)
- San Diego suffered four straight defeats last week, falling to UC Irvine on Tuesday before being swept at Georgia over the weekend.

- All three losses to the Bulldogs were by two runs or less, including Friday's 1-0 loss and Sunday's 9-8 defeat.

- Steve Singleton's 11-game hitting streak came to an end in the first game of Sunday's double header, as the junior went 0-for-3.

- Josh Butler was the tough-luck loser in Friday's 1-0 loss, as the junior surrendered just one earned run and struck out four batters in six innings pitched. Butler has allowed just one run in 26 innings pitched so far this season.

- The Toreros look to get back on track against No. 30 ranked Cal Poly this weekend.

San Francisco Dons (5-9 / 0-0 WCC)
- San Francisco dropped its first game of the River City Classic to Washington State, 7-6, but rebounded to top Sacramento State on the same day, 6-2. The win snapped a four-game skid for the Dons.

- Stefan Gartrell drove in three runs in USF's two games, bringing his team-high RBI total to 15. Gartrell also ranks second on the squad with a .396 batting average.

- Aaron Poreda picked up his first win of the season against Sacramento State, throwing 8.1 innings and not surrendering an earned run in the victory.

- Brian Anderson retired the final two batters in the win over the Hornets to notch his first save of the season.

- San Francisco travels to Fresno State (3/1) for a single game this week.

Santa Clara Broncos (7-6 / 0-0 WCC)
- Santa Clara defeated Sacramento State on Tuesday before taking two-of-three from then-No. 22 Cal Poly on the road over the weekend.

- Gabriel Alcantar had a breakout week, going 9-for-15 at the plate including a 3-for-4 performance in Tuesday's win. Alcantar clubbed a double, drove in three runs, and drew four walks on the week.

- Mark Willinsky recorded back-to-back saves in the wins over Cal Poly, tossing a combined two innings and striking out four batters.

- Daniel DeMarco earned his team-leading third victory of the season in Friday's 15-9 win over the Mustangs. All of DeMarco's wins have come in relief appearances.

- SCU hosts Nevada (2/28) before facing San Jose State for three games this weekend.
