WCC Announces Rawlings Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --  The West Coast Conference has named its Rawlings Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week for March 3, 2014.  

WEST COAST CONFERENCE RAWLINGS PITCHER OF THE WEEK
TROY CONYERS, SO., LHP, SAN DIEGO
Sophomore Troy Conyers turned in a strong performance against Baylor, helping the Toreros back into the top-25 poll. The sophomore southpaw took a no-hit bid into the sixth inning, as he held the normally potent Baylor bats at bay. 

Conyers then surrendered a single in the sixth, but did not allow another hit for the remainder of this outing, as he racked up eight strikeouts, in picking up the first win of the season. Conyers managed to retired 10 of his final 11 batters he faced.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE RAWLINGS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BRADLEY ZIMMER, JR., OF, SAN FRANCISCO
The preseason All-American showcased all of his abilities in the three-game set against Sacramento State this weekend. He hit .571 (8-14) against the Hornets with a home run, six RBI and three stolen bases to help give the Dons the series victory. Zimmer is now hitting .420 for the season.
