SAN BRUNO, Calif. --The West Coast Conference has named its Rawlings Pitcher and Player of the Week for March 5, 2012.
RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
TYLER OLSON, SR., LHP, GONZAGA
Olson backed the Gonzaga offense with a brilliant complete-game performance in the Zags' 4-1 win over the University of Texas - San Antonio Saturday. Olson helped the Bulldogs improve to 9-0 on the year by striking out four batters and allowing three hits and a walk. During one stretch, Olson retired 23 of 26 batters faced.

TROY CHANNING, SR., 1B/DH, SAINT MARY'S
Saint Mary's senior Troy Channing is the Rawlings WCC Player of the Week. Channing was a big reason for the Gaels going 3-1 in the Coca-Cola College Baseball Classic this weekend. In three games, Channing hit .600 going 6-for-10 with five runs scored and four runs driven in. He boasted a .636 on base percentage. He finished the weekend going a perfect 4-for-4 against No. 11 Arizona State scoring a pair of runs and driving in a run. Channing has reached base safely in 11 consecutive games, which leads the team.
