SAN BRUNO, Calif. -The West Coast Conference has announced that Loyola Marymount infielder Bret Dahlson is the Rawlings Player of the Week and Saint Mary's pitcher Mark Anderson is the Rawlings Pitcher of the Week for March 7, 2011.
LMU freshman Bret Dahlson batted .400 for the week, finishing 6-for-15 with two runs scored, a pair of doubles, a home run and five RBI. The home run was the first of the year for LMU. Dahlson slugged .733, reached at a .438 clip and stole a base. Dahlson hit safely in four of the five games, including a pair of hits in each of the first two (at No. 7 Cal State Fullerton and versus Hawai'i). The right-handed hitter also collected three RBI on Saturday against Hawai'i.

Saint Mary's junior Mark Anderson improved to 2-0 on the year with after throwing a complete game shutout of No. 25 UC Irvine. Anderson went 9.0 complete, scattering four hits, no runs, one walk with a season-high six strike outs. The Anteaters entered the game one of the hottest hitting teams in the country, hitting over .371, seven different players were hitting .340 or better entering the game. The Anteaters scored 82 runs entering the game, 18 in the first inning alone. Anderson, never had a player get past second base in the game as he was in total control. In 19.0 innings pitched this season, Anderson boats a 0.95 ERA, and opponents are hitting .164 on the year against him.
