WCC Announces Rawlings Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has named its Rawlings Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week for March 10, 2014.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE RAWLINGS PITCHER OF THE WEEK

KOLTON MAHONEY, SO., RHP, BYU

Sophomore Kolton Mahoney, RHP, 6-0, 195, threw BYU's seventh no-hitter in school history in a 5-0 defeat Thursday over Nicholls State University.

The right-hander from West Point, Utah via Northridge High School raised his hands high in celebration after throwing 102 pitches, striking out 11 Colonels in nine innings, and walking only two batters in leading BYU to its fifth straight win.

For his efforts, Kolton was also named to Collegiate Baseball's National Players of the Week list.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE RAWLINGS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

BRAD ANDERSON, SO., IF, PEPPERDINE

Brad Anderson led the charge offensively as Pepperdine went 4-0 on the week, getting wins over UNC Wilmington, No. 13 UCLA, USC and Houston. Anderson went 8-for-14 (.571) at the plate, driving in a team-high five runs and scoring three more. The sophomore first-baseman had his best day of the week in a 10-4 win over USC, driving in a career-high four runs and scoring one, while going 3-for-4 on the day. He also had a 3-for-3 day and scored a run in a 3-0 win over Houston to close the week. Anderson had two doubles, drew two walks and posted an on-base percentage of .625.
