March 12, 2007

Salt Lake City, Utah - The Gonzaga University baseball game against the University of Utah in Salt Lake City has been canceled. Wet field conditions at Franklin Covey Field forced the cancellation of the game.

The Bulldogs (10-10) and the Utes (4-12) were scheduled to play a two-game series starting Monday. The two schools will now play a single game Tuesday at Noon, PT, with game taking place at Ute Field on Utah's campus. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Franklin Covey Field.

Tuesday's game marks the final game of a 22-road swing for Gonzaga. The Zags will return home Thursday to play its first game at new Patterson Baseball Complex and Washington Trust Field. Rider University travels to Spokane for a three-game series which will start Thursday and run through Saturday. This week marks the first time in nearly three and half years that the Bulldogs have played a game on Gonzaga's campus. All three games are scheduled for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
